The Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety & Health Administration has various guidelines that govern the certification of forklift operators. Luckily, there are many OSHA-certified training programs throughout the country that can help.Â
If you have been a certified forklift operator for many years, you will need to renew your certification every three years. Refresher training is also advisable after an accident or near-miss incident. Once any necessary training or evaluations have been successfully completed, your certification will be valid for three years.
